Tabla is a traditional ceremonial instrument from India, consisting of a pair of small drums played in a sitting position on the floor. The larger, round drum, called the bahya, is made of metal. The taller, narrower drum, called the tabla, is made of wood. They sit on two round, donut-like bases covered in fabric.
