Chamber music for percussion can include any of the instruments of the percussion family. The most commonly used instruments in this group are the timpani, snare drum, bass drum, cymbals, triangle, marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, and glockenspiel. Technically speaking, anything that can be struck to produce a tone is a percussion instrument. There are even pieces in this genre written for four people clapping their hands to specific rhythms.
