Getting Started>Download

Downloading music for later playback

ListenSmart.com's free "Download" feature allows you to save an MP3 to your computer's hard drive for later playback. A typical song will take between 30 seconds (cable modem) and 15 minutes (28K modem), depending on the speed of your Internet connection.

To download and save a song to your hard drive, click on the download link next to the song of your choice.

Please note that if left-clicking on the download link automatically saves the MP3 to the Temporary Folder on your hard drive, you can specify the folder by simply right-clicking on the download link, select Save Target As (or Save Link Document As) and find the folder of your choice. (Be sure to remember which folder you've saved your music.) Once the file has completely downloaded, you may now use your MP3 player to play the file. Use the "Open File…" command and search for the file(s) you've downloaded.

Note: If you're having trouble with your MP3 player, see our FAQ section on the Software page.
