  Lyrics
As I came over Kilkenny Mountain I met Captain Irwin and his money he was countin' I first produced my pistol, then produced my rapier, sayin' "Stand and Deliver!" for I am a bold deceiver My Cheerie Duh-din, Duh-day Right for the Daddy-O! Right for the Daddy-O! There's Whiskey in the Jar He counted out his money and it made a pretty penny I put it in my pocket and I took it to my Jenny She swore in her heart that she never would deceive me But the Devil take the Women, for they never can be easy I went to Jenny's chamber for to take a little slumber I dreamt of gold and jewels and for sure it was no wonder But Jenny drew my charges and she filled them up with water And she fetched Captain Irwin just as fast as she could totter 'Twas early in the morning I awakened from my nappin' I beheld a band of footmen and the wily, handsom captain I reached for my pistols, for to begin the slaughter But I could not discharge them, for I could not shoot the water I reached for my rapiers but I found I hadn't any Then I knew they had been taken by my darlin' sportin' Jenny And thus I did surrender, a prisoner I was taken And by a gay deceiver I was all forsaken

  Full Description
We learned this song from a recording by Canadian Folk Legend, Tom Kines, which Kele found on a Radio Canada International release when she was looking for theme music for her radio show of the same name. We've grown to like it much more than the standard version. Kevin Burke's Polka came from Kevin Burke's CD, "Up Close." He just calls it "A Polka;" we added his name to honour this great fiddler.

Review:   This really sounds like it was recorded in a pub! I LOVE this kind of stuff!

Really good version of Whiskey in the Jar, and Kevin Burke's Polka is executed perfectly.

I want to hear more stuff from these guys (and girls)!
