Lyrics
It's a distant light you see
It's a thing to believe in
It's your own eternity
It's your thing to believe in
All I want is something to believe in
Something big, something grand,
Something in my hand
It's a ship upon the sea
It's a thing to believe in
It's a voice that cuts the air
It's your thing to believe in
All I want is something to believe in
Something big, something grand,
Something in my hand
All I want is something to believe in
Something green, something sweet,
Walk their with my feet.
Everything is lovely, I think I'd like to stay here
Maybe I could plant a yard & get some kids to play here
I could pull the crabgrass and pretend the leaves are flowers,
I could buy some books to read to while away the hours...
Take a dream out to the end
And don't be in a hurry
Play the game and make a scene
Before life gets too blurry
All I want is something to believe in....
Full Description
This piece was written in 1996 and recorded on a Yamaha 4-channel analog cassette deck. The tape was found in March 2000 and is being presented here. Transferred directly from a 4-year-old tape, all the great endearing qualities are present, such as dropouts, crackling and the absence of noise reduction! Enjoy..:)
