  Lyrics
Foxglove Blues My time is short, baby You know I'm gonna go My time is short, baby You know I'm gonna go You put somethin' in my coffee this mornin' Now I'm off to that fire down below I see these papers around the house All these trusts, wills and deeds A lawyer's signing our life away And you say "Oh it's nothing, sweetie" My time is short, baby You know I'm gonna go You put somethin' in my coffee this mornin', Now I'm off to that fire down below When I first met you, you said I was as fine as could be But now I bet I'm not as fine As all that insurance money My time is short, baby You know I'm gonna go You put somethin' in my coffee this mornin', Now I'm off to that fire down below You gave me some digitalis You said it'd be good for my heart You left out one thing, baby Too much will blow me apart My time is short, baby You know I'm gonna go You put somethin' in my coffee this mornin', Now I'm off to that fire down below Now I see you looking down on me You've finished casting your spell Good luck with your next man, baby Now that you've sent me to hell My time is short, baby You know I'm gonna go You put somethin' in my coffee this mornin', Now I'm off to that fire down below But before I leave this earth I'm gonna have you pitch a fit That cake you just put in your mouth has some arsenic in it My time is short, baby You know I'm gonna go I'm takin' you with me, baby, To that fire down below Copyright 1999 Helen M.   Full Description
This song was inspired by a locally celebrated case where, allegedly, a group of eight people, led by a mother and daughter, went around befriending elderly men and women, worming their way into their lives, then their estates, then one day slipping a little bit too much digitalis into their food (aka "Magic Salt"). The local police dubbed this case "the Foxglove Case", but had been having a hard time trying to prosecute (two inspectors were pulled of the case for allegedly trying to sell the story of this case to Hollywood, for example)

Review:   I just love the in-you-face lyrics here and the boogie-woogie sound that gives this song a real kick ass flavour. Terrific!

Review:   Shaky's sassy "get out of my face" vocals add so much contrast to this great tune. This is an excellent get down and dirty blues tune.
