The Stikmen - Smile on Your Face
Strumming guitar and smooth keys rhythm background
Set the mood for this poignant tune. The vocals break
In with a believably pained voice and adds to the lament.
This beginning is a true collaboration of sound, vocals,
Lyrics and pregnant pause effects. Throughout the entire
Song the background vocals add a bittersweet aspect to
The feeling.
It is two minutes into the groove before you are let down
Off the scaffold and raised up with hope and love in
Contrast to the hardships of day to day living previously
Described.
And just when I think….
I can't take anymore….
Darkness all around, down on the ground
And what do I see….?
The Smile on your Face….
It lights up my way….
The Smile on Your Face
Takes my breathe away.
I give this tune a big thumbs up for its emotional hook,
Its more than pleasing performance and the artfulness
Of production. This is a Hit!!!
