  Full Description
The S.O.U. are proving that they can consistently produce wicked dance flor grooves that vibrate in your guttural depths. The bass on this track comes from somewhere....I dont know...a place thats dark and cold. It booms in an almost militaristic, robotic precision and demends your instant attention. This bass doesnt conform to the norms we have come to expect from dance music grooves, these notes dont skip and triple across time bars in a catchy bouncy way...they happen on the beat like hard, unquestioning machine logice events. This hard machine logic is evident throughout the track (and indeed all S.O.U. material); it dictates everything. If this music could be visualised it would be a factory machine, a factory machine with intelligence, not just a passive automation..These are cold sounds rising from the ether of a dark sci-fi world, atmoshperic pads building up the tension, and providing a clear sense of place. There is also a nice contrasting theme within slipstream;whilst the beat and bass dictate the hard logical rhythm, the FX conjure up images of speeding vehicles zooming in and out of the fore.

Review:   Cold, moist & dark as tech ought to be, the bass line pulsating deep down. If you want tech step with a minimal techno edge this is it. The only thing that drags this beast down from higher ratings is two parts without drums being a bit too long.
