Review:

Honky tonk indeed! With a very nice swing feel, this song has a lot of nice danceable qualities. Unfortunately, the synthesized drums that accompany the vocals and the guitar need to become more realistic. As it is now, they hurt the song's production quality, in my view. But as with all of Dusty's songs, the song is very well written. I sincerely hope that Dusty gets a deal with a record label, because these songs could SHINE with a professional production. Nice job, yet again...

Lyrics

Chorus: Down at the Stumble Inn, I'm trying hard to pretend, Her lettin' me down really didn't bother me, I'm stayin' here at the Stumble Inn, where I know that I've got friends, A bottle of whiskey and a low-down memory. Verse 1: I've got a jukebox, plays me anything I want to hear, It helps me to pretend that she's not there, And those old neon lights, they're shinin' on me tonight, While she's out there somewhere, I'm tryin' not to care. Verse 2: Hey, bartender, do it to me one more time, Put it on my tab cause I've spent every dime, You know it takes so long, gettin' over a love this strong, As long as you keep pourin' I've got nothin' but time.
