  Lyrics
Bloodshot eyes glazed over from lack of sleep Ragged clothes, and his face is worn and creased He checks his watch, 5 A.M., he picks up his gun Walks over to the ridge to watch the rising sun He hears them first, squints hard at the coming day He sees three coming, high speed, down the valley Sights down his rifle at approaching foes Teeth clenched, eyes set and he's ready to go. Dawn awakens us, we go outside to pray We know our orders, so we move along our way They took my homeland, bit by bit, I make them pay You call me terrorist? Jihad is my way Think our methods evil? We've got God-given rights Give us the West Bank, give us Golan Heights We heed His teachings and the ulama says, "Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day". (chorus) Hit the brakes, God, I'm not ready How did I end up this way? How did I end up here? Hit the lights, dear, fall in and get it It's not my time, it's my fight and I must persevere Hit the brakes, dear, they're all coming My home is my home and I like it that way Hit the guns, God, they're gonna get it Doomed to be a martyr, I'm coming home today.

  Full Description
The title "Burning Paradise" is a reference to a Ringo Lam film, but the lyrics refer to the unrest in the Middle East. The intro and verse instrument is done using a microphone fed through a pitch shifter. For non-guitar sounds, I prefer using methods other than computers or synthesizers. It makes the process more difficult, but it is the integral part of my music-making process: to experiment with sound.
