  Lyrics
Another revolution to regulate, another Jeremiah to castrate, it won't get in the papers if your pockets are full, because you got the pull, baby you got the pull; take me off the air if I talk too loud, knock me down a peg when you think I'm too proud, bury me in silence when the message is real, don't play fair when it's better to kill the deal. I try to speak my mind, you find my words unkind. Rewind, now bind my silence. Hate my words so you take 'em away, SILENCE ME. Once more into the breech, peg me as a threat then you silence my speech; now the street prophets are on the run because you got the guns, baby, you got the guns. Rule number one is the law is a lie, if you've got the power then it doesn't apply. Say you respect me, want to protect me, but if I don't genuflect you're gonna wreck me. You say it's for my good, and you're misunderstood, I say you're a two bit hood. Hate my words so you take 'em away, SILENCE ME. Wage your war in the court of law, buy the evening news and spin it all; put the editorial on page one, sign it with a bullet and a smoking gun. Carbon copy soldiers in a corporate suit, cover up the truth and alter the absolute, rolling out the lawyers when I raise the black flag, follow up your action with a gag and a body bag. Blue suit, red tie, you talk, we die, no place to hide from your damned lies. Hate my words so you take 'em away, SILENCE ME. When freedom is a threat you take it away.

  Full Description
This is actually the second version of the song... the first version was up briefly, but I tried to update it which messed everything up, so I had to take off the first version and put this one up. At any rate, WeaponX reviewed Silence Me before I created this new listing. Here is that review: "Music: Very Killing Jokish. On top of that we have BDR's straight vocal delivery- And he isn't processing his vocals like he did on Molly's New game- So I can understand all of the lyrics clearly. Must be a first! ... Gee ya think BDR is speakin his MIND here?" Total Rating: 10 of 10

Review:   The Baptist Death Ray is starting to worry me. The old BDR was a reliable source of crushing guitars and (pin you to the) wall of noise. So imagine my surprise hearing of all things synthesizers arpeggiating away. Ok, I was caught off guard but then the beat came in and there were the elements that I like from BDR. What are those elements?
Conviction first.
Yeah, but conviction doesn't make for good listening. And it's true, it doesn't but in talented people it makes for talented expression and there's a lot of that in "Silence Me" a slap at the RIAA's hatchet woman.
There's also the musical factors.
This is a catchy song with a simple and memorable chorus and good mix between playing and loops.
I like the message but more important I like the vehicle that delivers it.
Very, very good. A must listen.

Review:   Let's see... electronic music on synths underlying very punk lyrics delivered with some of the best hip-hop tricks. Wow! Baptist Death Ray is the master of synthesis. Very cool tune!
