Let's use this board kind of like Sinusoidal used to be. We can talk shit about Rod and the hamsters and everything here. I like this board because it is UBB and stable, and because it is not secret. OMD's keep secrets. We have nothing but the truth. On the Main Listensmart board and on other OMD boards, including that download factory that used to be the AABB, we stay polite to EVERYONE. I am just as guilty as anyone, even recently, of rudeness. But if you really want to have any success, the rudeness has to stop. I am not passing value judgements, I am just stating the way it is. Hey Phil, I'm not against you and I don't have an opinion on dusty - certainly not his ally. I am against your rudeness and belligerance. If you were my manager I'd fire you - I don't need my customers and business partners needlessly antagonized. (BTW I have friends in all the factions you propose - I doubt there's any reality to those factions at all. But Davey's list is probably real - I'm one of the ones not in a faction). Dr O

As far as I am concerned, every artist is my either my ally, or my potential ally. All I am trying to say is the rude name calling turns people off. It is impossible to get any message through to them once they have decided that artist organizers are rude, insulting assholes. I cannot do enough damage control to make up for this poor behavior, much less make any headway. That's the way it is. As long as Phil continues this behavior on the main artist boards, he remains the biggest reason why it will be impossible to organize a viable artist coalition. Maybe Phil is an mp3.com plant whose real agenda is to prevent any type of real artist organization from happening. If he is not, he may as well be for the results he is having. It's no wonder Rod "pokes" around with Phil. He knows the more he gets Phil to rant, the better it is for mp3.com. There is just no way of convincing anyone that we are the good guys with this stuff going on. It's not even worth my time to even try, I can instead put my efforts into something I can see some results from. Like it or not, that's the way I feel about it. I am not going to mince words. In my view, you should step up to the plate and let your words be read. Instead of this cult of personality bullshit. I am for real and people know that the issues are, as well. I am not trying to be Mr. Popularity. I disagree, totaly with the view that Rod is baiting me. He comes on (after) my posts, not before. You may not believe this but Rod respects me, in spite of the fact that I am his advesary. Here's a little info. you don't know. Rod has emailed me privately and so has Sean F. If you think I have no impact then you are dead wrong. If you don't wish to represent the issues that I care strongly about, then say so. Or I guess you have. I will write Sean and tell him that I retract my recommendation and you can tell him that you are ot interested, as well. I have laid my cards n the table and have been forthright with you. If you don't speak for the issues, you will be hurting the very issues that you espouse to believe in and stand up for. Artists in the main are complacent and apolitical and fear-ridden. They care only about their own careers &/or bands. They see it as them against all the other bands. Most, not all don't see the Big Picture and are self-defeating within it.
