quote: Well, Rene. Just who is out of touch with reality here? You? Or every single professional just quoted? Who have each sold millions upon millions of albums. And have made millions upon millions of dollars in the process. And are pretty much all Household Names. [image not archived] ------------------ IP: Logged |

Major Label madison ave marketing money is what put those stars on the map and their major labels contimue to be a factor(with the exception of Courtney Love who can't carry a tune in a bucket) What they have to say is nonsense compared to what the business people at the management/label end of it have to say. So bugger off morons ------------------ [This message has been edited by Snake Crew (edited 01-23-2001).] IP: Logged |

quote: Wrong answer again, Rene. You're batting a thousand so far. As you know, the major labels market 1000s of bands. Only a few stick to the wall. The one sided contracts the labels have with the artists allow them to call that a success. The people who are supporting Napster are of the minuscule percentile that have managed to stick to the wall. And keep sticking. So what they say matters. Madonna knows what she is talking about, Rene. And she doesn't agree with you. Its not the artists suing it's the copyright holders or their labels idiot. The artists can say anything they want it doesn't change the fact that their label is suing god damned napster just like I am kenny why don't you stick your head further up your ass moron. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Snake Crew (edited 01-23-2001).] IP: Logged |

quote: Never said otherwise, Rene. Publishers and labels are suing Napster. Some artists are, too. Some artists are not. And as far as I know, no consumers are suing Napster. So you've got artists (that actually create the msic) and consumers (that want to enjoy the music) that support Napster. And you have got a bunch of middlemen that do not create music or even necessarily listen to music, suing Napster. Because they have made good money being middlemen. And Napster removes the middleman from the process. Rene, you is a middleman. And you don't like the revolution. You want it to be over. You want everybody to go home. But there are more people using Napster today than when you started this "go home" thread. Jesus threw the moneychangers out of the temple. Napster throws the moneychangers out of the music business. Hallelujah! In God we Trust. All others pay cash. [image not archived] ------------------ IP: Logged |

Strong logic, Rene. I'm right and if you disagree then you're a moron. Whatever. Hi Kenny. BTW- The revolution hasn't even started yet. Theo ------------------ IP: Logged |

Nobody is shoplifting on Napster, Rene. Nobody is stealing. Consumers are exercising their "fair use" rights to make and share copies. For no monetary reward whatsoever. Just like the public library. As proscribed by Thomas Jefferson in the US Constitution. Copyright protection has always been limited in US law. And that's why Napster is going stronger than ever today. ------------------ IP: Logged |

quote: It appears to me, loser/idiot/moron that you say I am, that the major labels have the big top reserved for the young and cute. Or the long since established. Have you watched M-TV, V-H1, CMT, or listened to radio lately? So for everybody else that is not both young and cute or a previously established superstar? There is the phoney baloney net. And touring. And that is it. Which is why I see you and your acts spending a lot of time on the phoney baloney net, Rene. Not because it's a great place to be right now. But because the other forms of distribution are closed. Unless, of course, you have some young and cute acts I don't know about, Rene? ------------------ IP: Logged |

Nice ad, Rene. The Harley crowd doesn't care about young and cute, thats for sure. And Harvey has the chops. Thats also for sure. So, getcha motor running. Head out on the highway. Looks like you got a plan and a regional TV outlet. Better yet, I don't think you can access Napster while riding a Harley. ------------------ IP: Logged |

This was from Billboard Mag about Widespread Panic, who this month signed with Sanctuary Records (who also signed MegaDeath this month as well): The band's latest album, "Another Joyous Occasion," was recorded on the band's 1999 summer tour with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Released on the Widespread Records label, the set peaked at No. 9 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart and No. 161 on The Billboard 200 in June. It has sold 54,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan. Now THAT'S an Indie accomplishment. Being #1 on an mp3.com chart and selling 10 DAM Cd's is a joke. I'd be interested in knowing what kind of sales your campaign generates, Rene, if you would be kind enough to share. ------------------ Davey Boy Crocky's Solo Project IP: Logged |

Rene, you debate like a 9 year old. Even if you had a good argument, you would have to decipher it through a slew of fuck you's, morons, and whatever other juvenile names you can muster. If you're right, then let your argument speak for itself. by the way, you're wrong anyway...so maybe the ad hominem attacks don't matter. ok, fire away. ok, back to you kenny! ------------------ IP: Logged |
