I was just listening to some of Shaky Tee's music when I noticed that since she had reuploaded Foxglove Blues my review had been deleted. I went to cut and paste the review from my member page, and found that the link on it still works, going to the old version.
A little more investigation shows that *all* disabled song pages still exist, and any links that have been created (for example in artists' 'favourite songs' lists, or outside links) still work.
This is a problem for everyone who has deleted a song, but it is a particular problem for me. The following two links still work:
http://users.listensmart.com/artists/song.asp?ID=1939 http://users.listensmart.com/artists/song.asp?ID=758

Do NOT download from these - they are only posted to prove they still exist.
This song was posted (in two versions) in the sincere belief it was a public domain song. At least in the US, this is no longer the case, so the song was disabled (There was a court case involving this very song and the Rolling Stones, which hinged on some odd obscure point of law. The song was disabled the day I found out about this). However the fact that it can still be accessed would make both LS and myself eligible for legal action for copyright infringement - which I obviously don't want to happen.
Something needs to be done about this situation RIGHT AWAY.

Woh, hold on there...

I love the idea that you can "disable" songs without actually deleting them.

Andrew is right, in that we need a way to totally delete any reference of the song from the system, but the disabled song is still a good idea. How about an option for disabled songs that allows you to remove disabled songs from the system?

IE, to delete a song entirely, you would have to first disable the song, and then delete it.

The reason I like disabled songs is that I have a few songs which I don't know what to do with. After I split up into two distinct music "groups", there are some songs that I have trouble placing in one of my bands. Since they have reviews attached to them, I'd like to hang on to them, but I don't want them to be viewed just yet... get it?
