And I don't mean anything concerning Phil. I just got an e-mail from a record company asking if I had a demo/record and if I was signed with anyone. The strange part about it is that it was addressed to the Honkytones! Ouch! Folks, I freely admit there ain't no such animal. I'm all the guys in that band (as if anybody didn't already know). If they decide to make a good offer and all that I may wind up changing my main style and have to recruit a bunch of blues guys or something. Yikes!
Like I said, this could get VERY weird (it's also frustrating. Why couldn't somebody show the same interest in my main thing?)!

"Life is something that happens to us on our way to our plans." Don't know who said that.
If you send your CD to HM, Phil will send you some tunes of his, as well. Fair play.
If this is really not what you want to do re: possible offer, think long and hard on it. Comitments are not easy to get out of. Course you knew that.

It was John Lennon who said that, in the song "Beautiful Boy" on his Double Fantasy album.

Slightly different quote. Lennon's was 'life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans'. Dunno if Phil meant that or a different quote.
Dusty, if I were you, and if the offer's good, I'd get 'the Honkytones' signed, but do a mixture of country and blues on the album. Most blues guys I know like good country and vice versa...

Thanks guys.
Phil
Thanks for the offer. Right now, I wouldn't be able to do much about a song exchange cause I'm kinda broke (try $80 for food for the next month), but when things get a little better I just might take you up on that. As for the rest, I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude. After all, I've had more success and recognition from the web than most of the rest of my career.
Andrew
As it turned out, I checked my other e-mail server and there was a message from the same company for ol' Dusty so I suspect it's probably a fairly new company trying to build a local catalogue. Mixing blues and country wouldn't be anything new for me, of course so I guess we'll see what develops.
