Just had to share. I just read the latest review of the only song Johnson Avenue has on Garageband.com - it stated that the song "Beg" would be better if it had male vocals. That female vocals do nothing for the song at all. Now considering the lines "when I feel your fingers slide beneath my skirt" and "when I slide down on my knees to take your head" - perhaps the person reviewing wasn't really listening at all? Boy! Missed the point big time!

i thought it was really funny, because the song is all about how it feels to be totally in lust with someone FROM A WOMAN'S POINT OF VIEW! i should know i wrote it about my relationship with my boyfriend. and they say a guy should sing it? LOL! oh well. maybe they have to hear it done live...i also got a review that said the music was great and the vocals were great but they hated the lyrics so much they never wanted to hear the song again.

Well garageband.com is one of the few places I don't have any music. I just hate the name.

Whoever said that about "Beg" is a complete idiot (and a cross-dresser I guess). Let me attem.

pete - that's why i just put one song out there - to test the waters. i understand it's a rather harsh place. i've had three excellent reviews and four negatives. i'm thinking some people just don't like it when women sing about sex.

steve - but it's just a harmless little ditty!

Songwriting Rule #436:

Never expect anyone to "get it".

You're not alone wolfie. I'm taking that review to the grave! LOL.

Ok, I'll be the odd man out and say that I love garage band. We get good, bad, goofy, and nasty reviews, but their always fun to read.

I especially love when we get a review that says something like "you guys ROCK! You should be signed NOW!", then the very next review says "what a snoozefest!"

Ya just gotta take it all in good humor.

p.s. wolfie -- I'm with parzival, I just have to go hear that song now.

Never considered putting my stuff on there. Don't want to. It's bad enough I've had to deal with jealous artists on Riffage. What is happening on Garageband is obscene.

But at least you have a sense of humor about it, Wolfie

guys guys guys - please don't read me the wrong way - i thought it was hilarious! the whole point of the song is a woman's overwhelming lust for a man - something that women don't usually write or sing about without throwing some gooey love dove above stuff into it - and this guy would like it if a MAN sang! oh - now THAT is irony.

man - robert that was brutal! let's see another one called it "janis japped". HUH?

jim you did warn me - and i'm thoroughly entertained by the whole thing. i've gotten some of the "this is a hit" reviews too

shaky - you've got to have thick skin for that site - but it's interesting to say the least!
