| | From : | | • Massachusetts | | Musical Style : | | • Melodic PUNK Rock to Hardcore, with lyrics that are meant to disturb by honestly spotlighting the mental, physical and situational decay anyone of us could face in our lives. The lyrics HIT Too close to home for the other FREEZE members. After each practice they would research painless ways of committing group suicide. Instead, depressed and aimless, they've all quit. Where are they? Praying to some god by firelight, sucking the marrow out of lost children's legbones, lying face-up on Nursing Home floors looking up the nightskirts of the elderly, crying to whoever will listen that THE FREEZE's lyrics have sucked out their brain matter quicker than 6 million worms. | | Musical Influences : | | • 1977 PUNK ROCK, Early 1980's CA Hardcore/Punk like The Circle Jerks, Shattered Faith, Agent Orange, Social Distortion, Bad Religion. Other influential bands would be; UK Subs, The Dead Boys, Early Clash, Ramones.... | | Brief Description : | | • THE FREEZE have spent 20 years observing, participating with, and writing about the ways people deteriorate over time. From "I HATE TOURISTS " in 1980, through 1999's "ONE FALSE MOVE" it's been straight up Punk Rock. NO FRILLS, NO FRONT, NO | | Artist History : | | • "The Gravestones were erected on ONE FALSE MOVE for the lyrical characters. Now it seems they represent THE FREEZE also. Everything dies eventually. |

THE FREEZE “One False Move” Cd
Wow! Not that I didn’t think that THE FREEZE didn’t still have it em; but this may be up there as my favorite of this-fuck-20 year long (plus) Boston outfit. The lyrics and music drip paranoia into plots of revenge like blood trickling, spurting, and coagulating from someone who’s been hung, stabbed and them given enough slack in the ropes to make everyone bloody. WAY BEYOND RECOMMENDED!

just wanted to let you know clif that you kick ass for throwing it down & keeping it real for the last 20 years. my favorite track would have to be Halloween Night. [email protected]
2)Hi Clif...it's Steve...one of your loyal army of obsequious humanoids. I reside in Australia. I really dig THE FREEZE. Some other favourites: ANGRY SAMOANS, CIRCLE JERKS, BAD RELIGION, THE OFFSPRING(except AMERICANA)., CHANNEL 3, ERAZERHEAD(Shellshock!), MINOR THREAT. FEAR. Apparently LA-oriented am I! Nevertheless, "THE FREEZE" has been my favourite since Senior High. | | Other artists we recommend | | | | Add Yourself to the Artists Mailing List |
