Artist Info

From :

• Akron

Musical Style :

• Chris Akin from MTV.COM and Bottomline Magazine adds, "Easily the most alluring part of KRANK is the vocal work of vocalist Ginger O'Day. O'Day is very reminiscent of the silky aggressive vocal style once displayed by BELINDA CARLISLE. She's got real attitude going on in many of the songs. "

Musical Influences :

• Garbage,Heart,Hole,Morisette, Carlisle,Hoff,

Brief Description :

• Akron - based band Krank! captures the artistic energy and drive with their funky - bluesy, groove, chunky rock sound that is intermingled with melodic vocal lines. In other words, Krank! is good ole rock-n-roll.

Artist History :

• Krank! formed in 1999 out of a break up of a "country on acid" rock/country band in which Mike, Ginger, and Vinny decided to depart ways to form a rock band leaving the formal country influences out. They found Dave and soon a sound was born that is a mixture of each of their individual tastes.

Press Reviews

earBuzz Review: Strong female fronted metal band from Akron, Ohio, with Vai-ish guitars, two-handed bass, and vocals that move from female angst to sweet tones (ala Morisette, Carlisle, and Hoffs) - and the latest CD from Krank, "Get up and Go", hits you with a unique combination of melodic songwriting and groove based metal/rock. Our music has been reviewed and awarded 5 "Yaks" at MP3yak.com, THE MP3-Ezine portal for MP3 reviews, news, songs, and chat! VERY few artists get this destinguis

Good things people say about krank

she rocks your world... "Good, solid 'chick-rock', excellent guitars, good backbeat production...the vocals show confidence and intensity." raindog - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Great rock song!!! (Fatal Addictions) This song kicks right from the beginning. The feel of the song is great, makes me want to run. Vocals remind me of Letters to Cleo a bit. Overall great rock song. bammhollow - Red Bank, New Jersey
